Wedding Card Challenge

Hey Kids!!!!  I had a challenge with some friends to do a wedding care because as you know it is “wedding” here in New Hampshire.  (Actually, I choose the theme.  Go Figure)

So I combined Mojo Monday’s challenge from yesterday with my wedding card.  I think it is really pretty.  On the inside, I stamped the outline of a bride and groom.  My DS was quite impressed.  He thought I had drawn in.  Poor delusional man.

I used SU gray card stock. All of the punches are SU, as well as the pearls.  The large heart and paper behind the image is SU silver.  If you can believe it, I had never opened the package.  lol  I embossed the Best Wishes in silver embossing powder.  That stamp was purchased at Michaels, on sale.  lol

I hope you like it.  I think it turned out really well.  Am very proud of it.

Copic Markers

Hello.  Been a long week.  For some reasons, I have taken to taking long naps.  Not a bad thing.  Nothing gets done though.

I have been interested in these markers and what to do with them for some time.  I actually bought a set and never did anything with them.  On FaceBook, I posted that I wanted to learn how to use them and asked how people learn and it was suggested to look on You Tube.  So I did.

The tutorial I found was a pretty basic first project one and I think it will be very helpful. Now, never needing a reason to buy new craft things, I felt I needed a variety of colors to do a project.  Yesterday I went on a “quest” for Copics.  I was very lucky to have a couple of coupons from different places as well as finding one set on clearance.  (Why would they be on clearance?)  So now, with the previous set, I have 24 markers!  And I actually have colors I can use because the tutorial said you needed colors close to each other for the shading.  Aren’t I smart?

Reading this you are probably wondering where the card is I made with my new markers?  Yeah didn’t make one yet.  I had to nap after my “quest” ! I will let you know when I have something to post.  I do think I will need quite a good tutorial for skin and hair, but there was one for that.  There is a web site – Color Me Creative Classroom – that offers classes, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to spend the money.  Maybe after the WEDDING.  (I’m using that as a big excuse lately.)

Good weekend everyone.  I still have a wedding card to make for a challenge and a SCS project to make.  Lots of things.  I need to make my necklace for the wedding, one for my mother-in-law, a bracelet for a friend, . . .

Sunday Post

Me again.  Second post for today, but I wanted to post it another day.  I’m getting better with the pictures.  You are also going to be astonished when I tell the diminisions and colors!

I purchased a new magazine the other day at Hobby Lobby.  Been there a lot lately.  Just love that store.  Makes me happy. I digress.  Anyway in the magazine, they made this card using the Washi Tape.  (I always think wasabi when I see that word)  And the card would have been easier with the tape, but I only have three colors and they do not coordinate well.  I thought how about some of that ribbon I have sitting around.  I drug out my American Crafts ribbon.  You know those little spools you buy because they look cute and then never use.  (Oh please, you do so.)  The words are an older set from SU – Wonderful Words.  I use to use it a lot, but not so much lately.  The little silver balls from from AC Moore.  The $1 ones.  (Not real silver, of course)

My card is not an A2 card because I did not follow the directions.  But if you want to follow the directions cute the white paper (SU) 3 5/8×4 3/4.  Put your ribbon on diagnonally.  The black paper (SU) is 3 3/4×4 7/8.  That will make it so you can put it properly on your card.

I think it looks really cool.  Just can’t decide which one I like the best.  How about you?

Cinderalla’s slippers

Hello and Happy Sunday All!!!!

These are flip flops I made4 for the bride to be.  I think they are really cute.  It is something she can wear to the shower, when she gets her hair done on wedding day, while she puts her dress on, etc.  I hope she likes them.

I got the pattern free from Hobby Lobby.  The trim is bridal trim from the fabric department there and the flowers in the center are Martha Stewart.

Let me know how you like them.

Water Card Challenge

Water Card Challenge

A few friends and I are doing challenges together.  This one was sort of a Keep Cool, Water Challenge (Of course, I do not know the real name of it.  Did you think I would?)I used my new favorite Summer Gina K stamps and the paper from the kit to create the card.  The circle was done with Spellbinders and a huge scallop punch.  I used Stampin Up markers for the coloring.  The sun is Summer Sun Ink. I think it is really neat.  I wish I were there sitting in that chair with a cold drink and a good book  (Maybe even Shades.lol)Enjoy the heat!!!

Gina K CASE

This is a card I made for my friend, Lisa, for all the inspiration she gives me stamping.

It is a Gina K total copy from over at Stamp TV.  The paper was from a kit I received Gina K Designs as well as the stamp set.  (They were all in the kit) and the ink was Real Red (Stampin UP) and the black is Memento Tuxedo.

I loved the card.  The tutorial she did was really easy to follow.  However, you just really needed the dimensions on the panels to make the card, except for the flower image she stamped off (You know what that means, right?).

Now if I was a really good blogger, I would have taken a picture of the inside as well because there is a piece of white with the image stamped off.  It made the image very light and on the tutorial she stamped words over it.  Very nice technique.

Well thanks for stopping by.  Hope you are having a great week.  I went to Yoga today for the first time in a loooooooooong time.  It really made me feel my age and the amount of strength I am losing.  Glad I went, but it made me feel a little bit – dare I say the word – old.

Talk to you soon.

Another Craft I Do

So I sew!  This is another craft I do, but I do not do it very often.

This is a bib cloth I made for someone at work.  Everyone seems to like these.  They are very easy to make.  Nothing special and why should they be since babies throw up on them.  Ha. Ha.

This is what I was doing while the rest of you were at picnics or the beach.  Just Kidding. (Well not really)

Happy Independence Day!!!!

Hey, hope you are all having a great day!  This is a technique I learned from  Gina K Stamp TV.  It is suppose to be a sunburst technique.  She used a more orange ink then I had, but I think it looks pretty good.  All of the paper and stamps are Gina K designs.  I purchased her monthly kit last month.  It was my first kit from her and I must say I love it.  Might have to get me one every other month or so.  I do not have any summer stamps and it had quite a few.  I used Stickles on the flip flops, but you cannot really tell.

Hope you all have a great day.  Don’t eat too many hot dogs!  Play nice!!

Lisa’s Challenge

This is a card I made based on a challenge by my friend, Lisa.  Check out her blog over at Pink Ink Stat.

So she had combine two other challenges, one from Freshly Made (that is the sketch) and the other is a color challenge.

Then her challenge was to make a masculine card.  This will be my husband’s birthday card.  I kind of like it.  I used the distress inks on the image and I think it looks old and masculine.  I used Real Red, Pacific Point and So Safron.  The stamp set is a Stampin Up set that has been retired, but it is the only really male set I own.  (Believe it or not)  I used words from a Gina K set.  And the embossing folder I do not know the name of, but I think it is like wood, but now like the new Stampin Up folder.

I am so specific on what I make, aren’t I.  Thanks for looking.
